Independence Day

Happy Fourth of July! Thank you to all who have and who will fight for our freedom and independence. I love the Fourth of July; it is a day to celebrate our nation in which I am proud to live. I must say that whenever I hear the Pledge of Alligiance or the Star Spangled Banner, I get choked up. It is such a priveledge to live in a country where people volunteer to protect their neighbor's freedom.

So, to celebrate, Mom and Papa came to visit. We ended up going out for a nice dinner on Friday, going for a few walks, bumming around on Saturday, getting ice cream at a local old-fashioned parlor, eating a wonderfully prepared meal on Saturday that we all made, playing cards (Skipbo), sneaking a peek of a little bit of fireworks, and watching a movie. All in all, it was a very nice weekend.
