So, last night we drove back to West Salem from Milwaukee with Jake's Alero (our third vehicle--the vehicle we could have traded in) on a two-wheel trailer hooked up to the truck after having a delightful dinner at my mom and dad's (My mom is an awesome cook!). We had to take the highways back instead of the interstate because of the speed requirement on the trailer. It took about 4 1/2 hours to get home. By that time, we were both pretty tired. At about 11:00, we went to bed with the television on. I kept hearing a noise that sounded as if it were coming from behind my head, behind the wall. Jake eventually heard it, too. After some persistent nagging, we got up to check it out. We looked in the bathroom, checked the blinds for activity from the wind, went downstairs into the kitchen to see if Louie was being naughty, went into the garage to glance for animals, went outside of the house to check for a burglar on the roof, and, nothing. We chaulked it up to summertime spirits invading the home.
When I woke up this morning, I noticed the pictures that are usually on the wall were no longer hanging there. Culprit identified. Wind through the window + hanging pictures on the wall + two very exhausted people = origin of noise. Go figure.
